Prior to installing the R2i3 Intraoral Scanner, please verify that all components listed in the table above are present and complete. If any parts are missing or do not match the description, do not proceed with the installation. Instead, please contact MegaGen for support.
Regarding the scanner, it reconstructs 3D digital impressions from a series of 2D images it captures. Its primary components include optical and imaging systems. The scanner handpiece features protective glass at its tip.

Scanner tip: Comprised of medical-grade stainless steel and an optical prism, this component attaches to the handpiece for scanning. The scanner tip is sterilizable according to the specified protocols.

Base: The handpiece holder maintains the handpiece; upon placing the handpiece on the holder, the scanner will enter standby mode.

Connector box: Facilitates the connection between the handpiece and computer, primarily to transmit data signals.

Data Cable: Transmits the output signal directly from the scanner.
USB Cable: Connects the base to the computer and facilitates the transmission of output signals between them.
Power Adapter: 12V 1.25A medically certified power adapter.
NOTE: Provides useful information and tips for using the software.
CAUTION: Highlights important instructions. Failure to follow these may result in system malfunctions or damage to property.
WARNING: Indicates critical safety instructions. Failure to comply may pose a serious threat or cause injury to the patient or operator.

- Part 3, Type C cable is connected to handpiece, and tightly screw the part;. Note: Please plug in the cable connection first, and then tighten the screw. Pay attention to the snap direction (Figure 1);

Hardware Connection:
Connect the opposite end of Part 3 to the Part 4 (Connector Box).
Connect the USB port of the Connector Box to the computer.
Connect the remaining port on the Connector Box to the Power Adapter.
System Readiness:
Once all connections are secure, the indicator light on the handpiece will show a stable blue light, indicating the scanner is ready for use.
Scanning:
Press the Light Button on the handpiece to begin. The indicator light will turn green, signaling that scanning has started.
Standby Mode:
After finishing the scan, place the handpiece back onto the Base. The device will automatically enter Standby Mode and stop scanning.
Power Down:
If the scanner will not be in use for an extended period, unplug the Power Adapter to fully disconnect the power supply.
Note:
- Ensure the scanner tip is correctly inserted before beginning a scan. Always insert or remove the scanner tip parallel to the handpiece, as shown in Figure 2; do not tilt or angle the tip during this process.

Status Indicator Lights
Stable Green: The scanner is initializing or currently scanning.
Stable Blue: The system is in Standby mode and ready to scan.
Flashing Blue: Connection failed. Please check the cable connections and ensure the software is running.
Hardware Installation
◆ Driver Installation Before connecting the device, you must install the hardware driver on the PC. This allows the computer to properly identify and communicate with the 3DS scanner.
◆ Installation Notes
Handle all components with care. Minimize any twisting, pulling, or distortion of the wires. Do not pinch, thread through tight spaces, or tightly roll the cables.
Place the scanner base on a stable, level surface in a secure position to prevent it from falling.
Take extreme care not to drop the handpiece or the base. Internal optical components are sensitive, and physical impacts may cause irreparable damage.
To prevent image distortion, do not place the system near strong magnetic fields or sources of static emission.
While this product is designed with low electromagnetic interference (EMI), it does not guarantee that it will not affect highly sensitive surrounding equipment.
◆ Cable connection
Connect the handpiece to connector;

- Plug USB cable to PC's USB port

- Connect the power adaptor to the connector
